RISE AFTER DOWN FALL
November 26, 2009
“sunrise is a gift from God symbolizing not only a new beginning for all of us but also another chance of creating a better home not only for people but also for all living.”
I just received forwarded e-mail exhorting readers to donate or at least to pray for the two million Fi
lipinos mostly hit by typhoon Ondoy and persuading to act upon the situation of our nature which resulted to this calamity.
The visuals were undoubtedly powerful, one in particular was a photo of houses surrounded and covered by garbage specially plastics. Beside this is a picture of a man covered in mud overwhelmed by his loss and his helplessness.
Most of us feel a part of that helplessness directly and indirectly. As I scroll down and read further this email, I found some encouragement and realization despite of all the depressing pictures attached because of the background depicting perfect scenery of su
nrise in a beautiful horizon. Within the picture is an inspiring message saying, “sunrise is a gift from God symbolizing not only a new beginning for all of us but also another chance of creating a better home not only for people but also for all living.”
This message certainly uplifted my spirit and encouraged me to go out and to give helping hand even if it may seem insignificant for others. It opened my eyes and my consciousness that this world is not created only for people. It is our responsibility to take good care all the living things either it is
person, animal, or nature.
It might not have resulted to sacrificing many lives if we prioritize improving a more habitable place than developing huge infrastructure which greatly influence the way of living. It serves as a reminder that we can never avoid the consequences as a result for abusing our Mother Nature and nobody can foretell what will happen tomorrow.
